By accessing or using Sixty Four Doors ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

2. Description of Service

Sixty Four Doors is an I Ching service that provides:

• Traditional hexagram casting (coin method and yarrow stalk method)
• AI-generated interpretations using the Claude language model
• Reading history storage for authenticated users
• Specialized reading types (general, relationship, finance, health, zen)
• Cross-references to ancient Chinese wisdom texts

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

4. User Accounts

4.1 Account Creation

To use the full features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your password
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
• Be responsible for all activities under your account

4.2 Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. Users under 18 should have parental or guardian permission.

4.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or engage in fraudulent activity.

5. Usage Limits & Fair Use

5.1 Free Tier Limits

Free tier users are limited to:

• 5 readings per day (resets at midnight UTC)
• Minimum 30 seconds between readings
• General reading type with coin casting only

5.2 Premium Tier

Premium subscribers receive:

• Unlimited daily readings (subject to fair use)
• All reading types (relationship, finance, health, zen)
• Yarrow stalk method with nuclear trigram analysis
• Deep readings with comprehensive temporal associations

5.3 Abuse Prevention

You may not:

• Use automated tools or bots to access the Service
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits
• Share account credentials with others
• Resell or redistribute readings from the Service
• Reverse engineer or scrape the Service

6. Payment Terms

6.1 Subscription Fees

Premium subscriptions are billed:

• Monthly at the rate displayed at signup
• Automatically recurring until cancelled
• Processed securely through Stripe

6.2 Cancellation & Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial months or unused readings.

6.3 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices with 30 days notice. Existing subscribers will be grandfathered at their current rate for one billing cycle.

6.4 Failed Payments

If payment fails, your subscription will be downgraded to free tier after 7 days. Your reading history will be preserved.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Content

The Service and its original content (excluding I Ching texts which are in the public domain) are owned by Sixty Four Doors and protected by copyright and trademark laws.

7.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of questions and notes you submit. By using the Service, you grant us a license to store and process this content to provide the Service.

7.3 AI-Generated Interpretations

AI-generated interpretations are provided for your personal use. You may not republish or commercially exploit these interpretations without permission.

7.4 Classical Texts

I Ching hexagram texts (Wilhelm/Baynes translation) and references to classical Chinese texts (Art of War, Book of Songs, Huangdi Neijing, Mumonkan) are in the public domain or used under fair use.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SIXTY FOUR DOORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Decisions made based on readings from the Service
• Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Service interruptions or technical errors
• Inaccuracies in AI-generated interpretations

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the past 12 months.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING:

• Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Guarantees of accuracy, reliability, or completeness
• Promises of uninterrupted or error-free operation

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sixty Four Doors from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Violation of these Terms
• Infringement of any third-party rights

11. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Texas.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
